Non-magnetic Drill Collars
The Gator team recognizes the importance non-magnetic drill collars play in the bottom hole assembly. During the manufacturing process, as well as after every run, our collars are bore scope inspected at full length to ensure a smooth bore throughout.
Our collars are manufactured to API Spec 7-1. Our inventory includes:
- Slick
- Flex
- Spiral
- Pony
Non-magnetic drill collars are used to provide magnetic spacing, protecting the downhole directional sensors from magnetic interference. Gator offers non-magnetic drill collars constructed from a specific alloy of non-magnetic elements, manufactured to API standards.
- OD sizes ranging from 3 1/8” to 11”
- Lengths ranging from the standard 31’ to 6’
- Standard API collar connections or high-torque connections
All collars are hammer peened full length in the ID, and all flex collars are shot peened on the OD for corrosion protection. Hardbanding can be applied to the OD in high-abrasive drilling conditions.
